    • The original work was produced by arranging in pairs to form the diptych self-portrait titled “Dialogue with Anonymity (Diptych)” in 2009, which underlay the concept for my art project "The Way I See” in 2013. In juxtaposing my self-portrait with the insignificant wildflower like a daisy, I attempted to embody the saying of Caravaggio: “It costs as much effort to make a good painting of fruit or flowers as of figures.” Through depicting both subjects with the same intensity and quality, I believe I could succeed to translate his saying.

For this print edition, however, I’ve decided to reproduce the wildflower separately. The insignificance of the flower represents the vast majority of inconspicuous, often oppressed people in past, present and future yet each one of them was/ is/ will be uniquely beautiful as one of these wildflowers.
