    • I was pretty shocked when I heard from my friend that the pheasant isn't native to England, though we see many of them at the daffodil season in every countryside. They were imported from China for aristocrats' hunting game, said he.

This is the print carefully reproduced from the original work “Pheasant”, which I created for the exhibition "I Wandered..." at Rydal Mount in 2015 for the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the final publication of Wordsworth's poem "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud" known as "Daffodils". On the theme of daffodils, I kept in mind how to come close to the daily life of the poet. I wonder, then, if the poet saw those beautiful birds, perhaps in a field of daffodils? I depicted one of them in an ornamental way inspired by the traditional Japanese painting style.
