    • This is the print carefully reproduced from the original work “Reflection”, which depicted a fisherman in one of local lakes called Esthwaite Water on a chilly winter day. The work was feature in the group show “FORTY BY FORTY” at GX Gallery (London) in 2016.

The fisher often appears in my works on the theme of life-scape. The act of fishing is definitely one of the most primitive ways we humans adopted for our diet. We have embraced such a natural and simple life style from time immemorial. I wonder when we started to devour excessive food far more than we need while great deal of people were starving? I wonder when we abandoned such a tranquil life style in harmony with nature? The fisher is, as it were, a symbol and a metaphor of something I feel lost personally as well as holistically as humans. It is my “reflection” regarding the human life in our hyper-technological contemporary society.
