The Arts Council England supported project "A Letter to the Earth from Beatrix", launched in 2022 with the support of the National Trust, has been well received even in its second season in 2023. To celebrate this, I decided to release limited edition art prints of a series of animal portraits, which were very popular in the project.
 
The original works are produced as part of my art project "A Letter to the Earth from Beatrix" held at Allan Bank, Grasmere. I've created these works to spotlight Beatrix Potter's creativity as a homage to her enduring legacy. As a Japanese artist living and working in the Lake District today, I have tried to reinterpret the stories and characters to which she gave birth as a result of her day-to-day observations. The result is a series of portraits of small animals (including my pets) that I meet in my own day-to-day life. A contemporary twist with Victorian satiric humour shines through, this collection brings creative inspiration and fun to your day-to-day life. Every print is produced with HP Artist Media 210gsm matt paper using UV light fast inks so that the colour lasts for long periods against sunlight and is faithfully reproduced with a fine line hatching texture of the original works. Each print is shipped with a black wooden frame, signed by the artist and marked with the edition number. Enjoy shopping!
 
2022年、英国芸術協議会より助成を得、ナショナル・トラスト協賛でスタートしたアートプロジェクト『A Letter to the Earth from Beatrix』、2023年第２シーズンも好評をいただきました。これを記念して、本プロジェクトでも人気の高かった動物肖像画シリーズを限定アートプリントにて発売することにしました。
 
本シリーズのオリジナル作品は、グラスミアのアラン・バンクにて開催のアートプロジェクト『A Letter to the Earth from Beatrix』のために制作したもの。ビアトリクスの多岐にわたる業績と不朽の遺産に対するオマージュの一環として、彼女の創造性に焦点を当て制作しました。ビアトリクスの日常観察から生まれた数々のストーリーとそれに命を吹き込んだキャラクターたちを、今日の湖水地方に拠点を置く日本人美術家として自ら再解釈し、自身の日常で観察された小動物たち（我が家のペットたちも含む）の肖像シリーズとして完成させたものです。ヴィクトリア朝時代の風刺的ユーモアを当代風にアレンジしたデザインが異彩を放つこのコレクション、クリエイティブで楽しみに溢れた毎日の暮らしのお供に。なお、本プロジェクトのコンセプトの詳細は、A Letter to the Earth from Beatrixをご参照ください。
